Enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside, explore the historic Kings Langley Palace ruins, or even take a trip to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. Kings Langley village centre is also within close proximity, boasting a range of shops, cafes, and amenities, making daily errands convenient for residents. Our facilities and services

At Abbeyfield Friars Mead, we're continuously striving to enhance the living experience for our residents. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards, we have an active program of refurbishment taking place throughout the property. This ensures that our residents enjoy modern, comfortable, and updated living spaces. If you're considering joining our community, rest assured that our dedication to improvement means you'll be greeted by a fresh and rejuvenated environment.

For your convenience, we provide a range of amenities including internet access, lift access, laundry services, a library, two dining rooms, guest facilities, a stairlift, wheelchair access, and a lovely garden for enjoying the outdoors.

Our rooms

We offer a variety of comfortable en-suite rooms to suit different preferences, with some rooms boasting beautiful garden views. Residents can enjoy socialising and relaxing in our large and small communal spaces, which include upstairs lounges with balconies, which are available if residents wish to have lunch with their family or mark an important occasion. We also have a dedicated hairdressing room for use when our hairdresser comes to visit.

Activities and events

We have a packed activities program featuring bingo, chair exercises, skittles, and more, along with special events like Christmas fairs, summer BBQs, and religious celebrations.

Our dedicated team provides high-quality care, ensuring residents receive the support they need to live fulfilling lives. We focus on resident wellbeing with activities that keep them mentally and physically stimulated.

Enjoying good food

You can enjoy nutritious, freshly prepared meals with a choice of options to suit all dietary needs. There is always a choice of three dishes at every meal chosen by the residents the day before. Just like in a family home the meals are served in the dining room which is a lovely time for residents and staff to socialise. In between meals, drinks and snacks are provided. A kitchenette is also located on both floors in which residents can use for themselves or their guests during normal times.

We have a 5 star rating for Environmental Health and an Excellent rating with HCPA’s impartial feedback survey.

Respite stays

When residents come and stay with us, their carers can relax and have peace of mind knowing that their loved one is safe. Our respite stays include 24 hour care, home cooked meals and the use of all our facilities. We understand that everyone is different so personal preferences are always built into our packages.

Respite and short term stays also help build a connection between our residents, their families and our home; this can be beneficial should a more permanent stay become necessary in the future.

You are encouraged to personalise your room with your own furniture and belongings, and our staff are always available to assist you.
