Opened in 1985, Stonehill House is a beautiful care home located in the scenic village of Haddenham. Our house comprises of 11 comfortable, safe, and well-equipped en-suite rooms, five of which have direct access to the garden at the back of the house. We continuously strive to ensure that our house is maintained to the highest standards, looks attractive and meets the changing needs of our residents.
Situated in Haddenham, our house is 9 miles west of Aylesbury, in the district of Buckinghamshire. You’ll find an extremely active community at the heart of Haddenham village, where there is an extensive range of clubs and activities for you to take part in throughout the year. Close to Stonehill House are shops, a library, village hall and post office. We have great transport links, by road; we’re two miles away from Thame, you can travel via the Chiltern Railways from Haddenham & Thame Parkway, or catch a local bus to Aylesbury, Thame and Oxford. There are taxi services also available in the village, as well as two volunteer transport schemes which can take residents to appointments in the village, local hospital or if you want to visit local friends to socialise.
At Stonehill House, we have a team of dedicated, caring and professional staff many of whom have worked here for a number of years, and we pride ourselves on getting to know our residents. We will encourage you to maintain your relationships with friends and family, as well as support you with any hobbies or interests you wish to pursue. We provide a range of in-house activities and trips to local garden centres.
We place high importance on ensuring that you maintain your independence and get support from us when you need it, and offer a home where we like to think of ourselves as a large family.
Finding companionship and friendship is easy at Stonehill House, we have a very peaceful and beautiful garden, with ample seating, where you can meet with family and friends or join your fellow residents for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. Many of our residents enjoy seeing all of the wonders of nature which enter our garden; you’ll be able to spot a great variety of wild birds, hedgehogs and squirrels; or you can sit, relax and chat with a tea or coffee in the lounge, which has a TV and music centre.
Stonehill House is managed by the Abbeyfield Haddenham Society.
