Bradbury House residential care home was purpose built and has 41 attractive single en-suite bedrooms. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items and pieces of their own furniture for a homely ambience. All our rooms are thoughtfully decorated with attractive curtains and have fitted carpets. They are centrally heated and have opening windows for those warm summer days, and air conditioning throughout the home.
All bedrooms, bathrooms and public rooms are connected to a call system for the security and safety of the residents. Each bedroom door is fitted with a privacy lock and each room has a lockable facility to secure valuables and personal items. We provide all the bed linen and towels and all the laundry is carried out by staff.
We are justifiably proud of our beautiful gardens which have plentiful seating areas and a summer house so you can always sit out and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, or simply watch the world go by.
This is only the start, because this is all supplemented by the other facilities – lounges, activity centre and so on – that are there to make Bradbury House a home. We provide for all the needs of those whose home it is, with excellent facilities and services that make life that much richer and fuller, while allowing each person the space to be an individual, making their own decisions about their lives.
We provide two tasty and nutritious home-cooked meals every day, served in our pleasant communal dining room so that meal times are a social occasion. Breakfast is served in residents' bedrooms for a gentle start to the day. We have a delightful communal lounge so there is always somewhere to enjoy the company of others.
This house is managed by the Abbeyfield Beaconsfield Society.
Wendy has been caring for older people since 1991 and has worked at Bradbury House since October 1994, initially as a Nurse, then Nurse Manager from September 1996, Deputy House Manager from June 2000. She took on the post of House Manager in April 2001, following a several month spell as acting House Manager. Wendy qualified as a nurse in 1991 and has since achieved a City and Guilds Management for Care award in 1996, an NVQ Assessors award in 2002 and Registered Managers NVQ award in 2006.
