Bradbury House residential care home for older people was purpose built and has 41 attractive single en suite bedrooms. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items and pieces of their own furniture for a homely ambiance. All our rooms are thoughtfully decorated with attractive curtains and have fitted carpets. They are centrally heated and have opening windows for those warm summer days, and air conditioning throughout the home.

All bedrooms, bathrooms and public rooms are connected to a call system for the security and safety of the residents. Each bedroom door is fitted with a privacy lock and each room has a lockable facility to secure valuables and personal items. We provide all the bed linen and towels and all the laundry is carried out by staff.

We are justifiably proud of our beautiful gardens which have plentiful seating areas and a summer house so you can always sit out and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, or simply watch the world go by.

This is only the start, because this is all supplemented by the other facilities – lounges, activity centre and so on – that are there to make Bradbury House a home. We provide for all the needs of those whose home it is, with excellent facilities and services that make life that much richer and fuller, while allowing each person the space to be an individual, making their own decisions about their lives.

We provide two tasty and nutritious home-cooked meals every day, served in our pleasant communal dining room so that meal times are a social occasion. Breakfast is served in residents' bedrooms for a gentle start to the day. We have a delightful communal lounge so there is always somewhere to enjoy the company of others.

Life at the house

The care home has been enhanced by the addition of a purpose built activities centre that allows a whole range of interesting and varied activities to be undertaken and in which our day care visitors can participate. It is joined with the main house by a glass covered way and enjoys the same beautiful gardens as the main house.

Our minibus also provides the opportunity for residents to embark on trips to local events and attractions.

We organise a number of social activities and events, especially suitable for older people, in our activities centre. These are available for both residents and visitors to the day centre, so there's always something to keep you occupied or to look forward to. We have a minibus which enables us to easily take residents and day care visitors on outings.

The meals offered to our residents are balanced, nutritional and varied. We provide meals that will cater for individual preference and dietary needs, and residents are regularly consulted about the choice of menu. Wherever possible local and fresh ingredients are sourced for our meals.

Weekly Menus

The four weekly menus are always displayed on the main notice board, and we change our menu at least three times a year to use seasonal produce.

Delicious homemade cakes are always served for afternoon tea. All of our baking is done in our kitchen and for those special occasions we love to whip up a cake or two! Our residents look forward to their wine and sherry which is served mainly on Sundays with lunch. Residents' families are always welcome for meals.

Residents' choices of breakfast are generally served in their own room at a time suitable for them, for a gentle start to the day. For the main meals residents have the choice of either eating in our main dining room, in our activity centre (for lunch only), in their wing lounger or in their rooms – the choice is entirely theirs to make.

Drinks are available all the time, and snacks at anytime of the day or night.
