Overview

We are an innovative residential care home situated in the village of Winnersh, Wokingham. Our care home is dementia friendly and designed to allow freedom of movement throughout, flowing from one area into another.

Our home has 62 en-suite bedrooms each with a brightly coloured front door complete with a letter box and street lamp. Our bedrooms have been provided with specialty furniture that is designed for easy access to your clothes and for you to be able to locate items quickly, but we encourage you to make your room your own by personalising it in anyway you wish. This could mean bringing in your favourite arm chair, photos, ornaments and pictures for the wall, all of which will help make the room become your home.

Whilst each room has its own en-suite, our home also has separate spa-bathrooms with sensory lighting and the technology to be able to play your favourite relaxing music.

A beauty salon, communal and private lounges, a cinema, shop and café complete our home and are available for residents and visiting friends and family to use at their leisure.

Our large garden and roof terrace has been designed to encourage outside living with lots of areas for activity or relaxation. Recently we built two summer houses to allow outdoor activities throughout the year and help you with any hobbies you wish to pursue. When young children visit we’ve provided a fun area and climbing frame with plenty of seating for you to watch them play.

Our aim is to treat residents as individuals and tailor the care we provide you. Our team of staff are dedicated to ensuring all of your needs are met and your expectations exceeded.

We want you to feel at home at Winnersh and always welcome feedback from residents and relatives through surveys, relative’s meetings and conversations with our residents.

In March 2018 we became one of the first care homes in the country to receive accreditation from Playlist for Life, a pioneering project that uses music to help those living with us that have dementia. Find out more about the Abbeyfield 'Making Music' project here.
