Having been open since 1963, Lear House is a popular Residential Care Home in the picturesque seaside town of West Kirby. We pride ourselves on the fantastic staff here, who are on duty 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Set across two floors, Lear House has undergone recent renovations and upgrades in certain areas, making it a truly wonderful place to live. Our large communal lounge is the perfect place for residents to chat to one another or simply enjoy the stunning views across West Kirby. Food is an important part of life here, with residents enjoying their freshly prepared, home cooked meals in our dining room. There are also two smaller lounges where residents can relax with a book or the crossword, or have a quiet coffee and chat with friends.

Each bedroom has been refurbished to ensure they are dementia friendly, using furniture and fabrics that creates a relaxing ambience. We are audited against the Stirling University Dementia Audit Standard, recognised as world leaders in this field. Each room is decorated to a very high standard, offering more than enough space for residents to bring their own furniture to personalise their new space.

Our stunning garden area has been newly landscaped and is the ideal place for relaxing or simply enjoying some fresh air. Access to the internet is available, which some residents find especially useful for keeping in touch with friends and family.

We host regular celebrations and our dedicated Activities Coordinator also ensures that there is always something interesting going on for our residents to participate in.

Activities can range from trips out to local attractions, gardening, shopping, coffee and quiz mornings, arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, cocktail or wine evenings, and music events – there’s something for all tastes! The list goes on, and continues to grow with each resident’s suggestion.

We aim to support our residents in every way that we can in order for them to live independent, interesting and meaningful lives.

This house is managed by the Abbeyfield Hoylake & West Kirby Society.
