Opened in 1989 by the Bishop of Chester, Abbeyfield House in Ellesmere Port is set in the beautiful county of Cheshire not far from the stunning Whitby Park and picturesque National Waterways Boat Museum. We are also close to the historic city of Chester and local attractions, which is perfect for taking a day out to explore the sights.

We are close to local shops and convenience stores and we have great transport links to the high street with its variety of shops, cafes and healthcare services.

The house has 10 ensuite apartments which have their own kitchenettes, ideal for making light meals and snacks. Rooms are unfurnished for you to bring your own personal belongings and create your new home from home.

We have an attractive lounge and dining area, a spacious conservatory and wonderful gardens for enjoying a day outside in the fresh air. We also have laundry facilities and a hair salon.

We hold activities throughout the year and we make special efforts to celebrate Christmas and residents' birthdays.

Entertainment afternoons are also very popular, we like to provide a monthly calendar of stimulating activities with our mature residents in mind to enjoy in our communal lounge.

It is important to us that our residents are informed and involved, we hold a bi-monthly meeting with an open forum where residents can have a say in their life at Abbeyfield.

Safety is one of our main priorities here and we offer a personal alarm in case of emergencies. We also have a secure entry system, with each resident having a separate doorbell and intercom system. In addition a fire alarm system linked to a call centre.

We pride ourselves on the support we give to our residents and want them to be happy in their home, while enjoying the independence they wish in their day to day lives.

This house is managed by the Abbeyfield Ellesmere Port Society.
