Our house is located in the Handbridge area of Chester just over the old bridge across the River Dee from the historic Chester City Centre with ample shops, restaurants and cafes.

Our house offers 12 rooms (over two floors), each with a lounge/bed area, a small kitchen and an en-suite shower room. Both floors of the house also have a communal bathroom and a laundry room. A lift and stairs connect the two floors. We have a small potted garden with artificial grass and seating, at the front, which truly is a sun trap. To the rear, we have potted plants, and a more private secluded space.

Our large communal dining room is where you will enjoy two fabulous home cooked meals each day, in the company of the other residents at the house. We offer a two-course lunch with your fellow residents, and an evening meal. Residents are welcome to furnish their own rooms in their own style and to put up photographs and paintings on the wall to give it a personal touch.

Safety is our priority here at Abbeyfield Chester; and we offer a personal alarm in case of emergencies. We also have a secure entry system, with each resident having a separate doorbell & intercom system. We pride ourselves on the support we give to our residents and want them to be happy in their home, while enjoying the independence they wish in their day to day lives.

Close by is a newsagents, Post Office, Co-Operative convenience store with ATM, petrol station, butchers, greengrocer, cafe, hairdresser, chemist, and Handbridge Medical Centre. No to mention, we have three pubs nearby, and the beautiful city of Chester being just a 15 minute walk away; where you'll find streets steeped in rich history and plenty to see and do.

We are lucky to be supported by a team of volunteers, who work closely with the manager to plan plenty of social events during the year.

We hold quizzes, BBQ’s, afternoon tea’s, birthday parties, iPad facetime sessions and games nights. We have our infamous ‘Sherry Sunday’ where our residents enjoy a tipple and a natter, and we regularly organise day trips and events all year round, such as canal trips in North Wales & days out to the local garden centre.

This home is managed by Abbeyfield Chester Society.
