About the property

Celebrating 50 years in September 2018, Abbeyfield House in Radcliffe is located on Turks Road just a mile from the town centre and 50 yards away from a bus stop.

The house has seven private personalised bedsits, each of which has a lovely area where you can put your own personal furniture, making your room into a real home. Each bedsit has a small kitchen area and en-suite bathroom, and the house has a beautiful garden which is maintained by professional gardeners.

Two meals are home-cooked every day, and facilities for making refreshments and breakfast are provided.

The home is well maintained and has a cosy and happy atmosphere. As it has only seven residents we can easily accommodate their personal needs and requirements, so it's a real home from home. Our residents all have a very friendly and caring relationship with our staff and committee members.

A hairdresser comes weekly and an optician visits when required. And Turks Road has its very own knitting circle!

This house is managed by Abbeyfield Bury.

Meet our staff

At an Abbeyfield supported house, we offer a home from home experience. Our staff are crucial to creating this homely, friendly and welcoming environment.

All our staff are fully trained and skilled at catering for the needs of older people, and are empathetic to the requirements residents have. Staff are there to make sure all residents are safe and secure, that meals are nutritious and enjoyable, and that the house is a thoroughly enjoyable place to be.

At Abbeyfield, we believe in making time for older people and our staff embody this by always being available for that cup of tea and a chat - to be there as a companion when needed.

This aspect of life at an Abbeyfield supported house sets us apart from other providers.

GardeningOur house has a beautiful garden which is maintained by professional gardeners to a high standard - somewhere you can sit out in comfort and enjoy the surroundings to your heart's content.

Or if you're feeling a bit more energetic, the gardeners are always very happy for you to help with some planting!

Other activities especially suited towards older people include a knitting circle at Turks Road. Residents can also travel to Church events accompanied by our very dedicated house manager.

Local church ministers visit the house to give communion to residents who require this service.
