Life at the house

We encourage residents to get together for morning coffee and a calendar of social events and outings are on offer throughout year for those who wish to participate, including shopping and theatre trips, picnics, visits to local gardens, steam railway outings and trips onto the Moor for tea, all helped and supported by our team of volunteers. Guest speakers are also invited to entertain the residents.

Locally in Dulverton, there are regular film nights, plays and musical events taking place and residents also entertain themselves in the home with gardening, board games, jigsaws, knitting and many other activities.

Delicious home cooked food is prepared daily using local produce wherever possible prepared by Frances, who is a trained cook, and she enjoys preparing a variety of seasonal meals for lunch time and supper in the evening in addition to breakfast and afternoon tea.

Shelley, the Assistant Manager is a star baker and specialises in baking a wide range of delicious cakes and biscuits as well as everyday meals.

Support with cooking is also provided by Caroline, the housekeeper.
