Situated close to The Royal Botanic Gardens, Victoria House is a beautiful large Victorian house set within three walled courtyard gardens. The house was extensively modernised and refurbished, with a lift and stair lifts allowing residents easy access throughout the house.
There are 29 rooms, some of which have ensuite facilities. Room are furnished but we encourage you to bring personal items to create your own home from home.
The house is located close to nearby shops, cafes and restaurants with the main-line train station just a few minutes walk away. There is a facility onsite to park and charge mobile scooters which helps to make things a little easier for getting out and about.
Residents are encouraged to help keep the gardens blooming and tend to the raised vegetable beds allowing our chef to pick some produce for the weekly meals. Meal times at Victoria House are very social occasions with three dining rooms to choose from. Our qualified in house chef caters for all dietary needs, so you will always have a delicious meal to tuck into.
Our dedicated activities coordinator helps to ensure that everyone is engaged and stimulated throughout their stay with us whilst ensuring that we promote individual hobbies and interests.
We are privileged to have an active volunteers group of people who live locally. This group has a very long standing association with Victoria House with volunteers participating in activities and arranging events and trips throughout the year. We also have a dedicated Doctor who visits the house weekly.
Victoria House is a happy, homely and caring atmosphere where excellent relationships have been built between our residents, their families and our dedicated staff.
