About the property

Farraday House on Tottington Road was established in 1984 with donations from Bury Council and the late Mrs Templeton.

The supported accommodation has fourteen private personalised bedsits, each of which has a lovely area where you can put your own personal furniture, making your room into a real home.

They also have a small kitchen area and an en-suite bathroom. Two meals are home-cooked every day, and facilities for making refreshments and breakfast are provided.

The house has a beautiful garden which is maintained by professional gardeners. It is on a main road within a mile of the town centre, and bus stops are 50 yards away.

A hairdresser comes weekly and an optician visits when required.

Meet our staff

At an Abbeyfield supported house, we offer a home from home experience. Our Staff are crucial to creating this homely, friendly and welcoming environment.

All of our staff are fully trained and skilled at catering for the needs of older people, and are empathetic to the requirements residents have. Staff are there to make sure all residents are safe and secure, that meals are nutritious and enjoyable, and that the house is a thoroughly enjoyable place to be.

At Abbeyfield, we believe in making time for older people and our staff embody this by always being available for that cup of tea and a chat - to be there as a companion when needed.

This aspect of life at an Abbeyfield Supported House sets us apart from other providers.

Activities

Arts and craftsWe organise a number of social activities and events, especially suitable for older people, so there is always something to keep you occupied or to look forward to.
