Extra Care House, purpose built in 1990, provides residential nursing care for 19 residents. 12 of the rooms are single, and three shared. Seven of the rooms are ensuite. Residents may bring their own furniture and facilities are available for family or friends to stay overnight.

We accept residents from 65 years of age. We provide lunch and dinner seven days a week, plus breakfast-making facilities in the residents' rooms.

We have regular visits from a hairdresser, mobile chiropody unit and mobile library. A Church service is held monthly in McMillan House.

We have a great activities coordinator who organises exercise classes, quizzes and arts and crafts sessions, and we even enjoy a visiting pet zoo.

Extra Care House is managed by Abbeyfield Rutherglen
