Meet our staff

At an Abbeyfield Supported House, we offer a home from home experience. Our Staff are crucial to creating this homely, friendly and welcoming environment.

All our staff are fully trained and skilled at catering for the needs of older people, and are empathetic to the requirements residents have. Staff are there to make sure all residents are safe and secure, that meals are nutritious and enjoyable, and that the house is a thoroughly enjoyable place to be.

At Abbeyfield, we believe in making time for older people and our staff embody this by always being available for that cup of tea and a chat - to be there as a companion when needed.

This aspect of life at an Abbeyfield Supported House sets us apart from other providers.

We consult residents on those activities they would like and then arrange events and activities accordingly. This allows everyone to enjoy interesting and sociable times with their fellow residents.

Musical evenings are led by a local choir or instrumentalist. Afternoon activities are organised that suit the residents’ interests e.g. flower arranging, crafts, games or informal chats.

Some residents enjoy church activities such as Guild Meetings or weekly lunches. Many residents attend church services to which they are chauffeured by courtesy of a church rota.

A DVD and TV have been installed in the conservatory for communal viewing of DVDs. We also have a small electronic keyboard for musical entertainment should that be your forte!
