Overview

Westall House is situated in the picturesque village of Horsted Keynes on the border of West and East Sussex. We benefit from stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Westall House’s Sheltered Housing complex accommodates 14 self-contained bungalows for single occupancy and 2 double bungalows designed for married couples. Built in 1958 and designed for residents who can lead more active and independent lifestyles.

Each bungalow has a bed sitting room, own bathroom, kitchen and patio area.   

Frequent social activities include bingo, quizzes, art and exercise classes and musical events organised by our Activities Organiser. New residents accepted from 65 years of age.

All residents are encouraged to remain active both mentally and physically through a varied programme of events run by our activities organiser

  • Residents bring their own furniture and photos/pictures so that they can make their bungalow their own

  • An overnight guest stay room is available for family and friends to stay if needed

  • Support staff available from 10am- 2pm daily

  • Varied and Nutritious home cooked meals provided by our Head Chef Lynn – She will speak to residents when they move in to ensure that all dietary requirements are met, alternative meals are always available

  • Wide variety of activities available daily including crosswords, Art group, Coffee mornings, weekly quiz and Evening prayer to name a few

  • The local Hairdresser Sue visits Westall House twice a week

  • Westall House has good links with our local community

  • Central alarm system for 24 hour emergency call cover

We will support you in making your own decisions about how you want to live your life. We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and we support residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to regular outings.

On the Menu

dining room at abbeyfield westall house supported housing for older peopleLynn our Head Chef ensures that all residents’ needs and dietary requirements are met at all times offering a varied menu of nutritious home cooking using fresh vegetables prepared that day. Lynn has her Level 4 award in managing food safety in catering and is very proud of our 5 star food rating.

 

Breakfast:

For our residents living in supported housing bungalows, breakfast is not provided by Westall House and this is the responsibility of the residents. Breakfast can be made in your room, which will be fitted with your own kitchen. 

Lunch:

Our residential care residents and the supported housing residents all come together to eat lunch in our main dining room. The menu is varied and alternatives are also offered daily.

Supper:

Supper is generally a light meal for the evening with alternatives always being available – the options include soups, sandwiches, and salads.
