Leonard Pulham, purpose built in 1982, provides nursing care to 34 residents in single rooms. Residents are encouraged to bring their own personal items of furniture to help create a homely, familiar feel. Every room has washing facilities and TV and telephone points.

We have a high ratio of fully qualified staff, and every room has a nurse call system. Bathrooms are fitted with modern equipment to make them suitable for very disabled residents.

We have well-maintained gardens with beautiful flowers, bird baths and bird tables to attract the wildlife, together with patios and seating areas, and ramps for easy access.

Leonard Pulham Nursing Home is managed by Abbeyfield Buckinghamshire

Life at the house

Arts and craftsWe are fortunate to have a very experienced full – time activities co-ordinator, who organises group and 1-1 activities on a daily basis during the week. There are a wide range of activities on offer ranging from the knit & natter group and various classes including art, flower arranging and Zumba to general knowledge quizzes, cards & dominoes and Bingo.

P.A.T. dogs visit regularly and give a huge amount of pleasure to the residents. These very special dogs bring everyday life closer, together with all the happy associations of home comforts and unconditional love.

Outings are organised throughout the year and these include places of local interest, pub lunches and pantomime visits, to name but a few .Specially adapted vehicles are hired to ensure that residents of all abilities are able to take part.

During the summer we utilise our garden to its fullest potential. When the weather is fine, we often have BBQ’s and strawberry cream teas. We also hold our annual Summer Garden Party for our residents, their families and members of the local community to attend.

Music is a big part of our Home and numerous choirs and individuals regularly visit to entertain our residents and to have a good sing-a-long. The Home also has a strong relationship with local churches and regular services are held within the Home for those who wish to attend.

We welcome all families and friends to any or all of our events.

KitchenWith the majority of our produce sourced locally, meals are tasty, nutritious and home-made in our kitchen with all individual preferences and specialist diets catered for. Meal times are a real social occasion and we have a lovely shared dining room, two living rooms and a sun lounge, so there is always someone around for a chat.
