Overview

As you get older, daily chores can become increasingly difficult and you may begin to feel isolated and lonely. So why not free yourself of those chores, enjoy your well-earned leisure time and come and join our Abbeyfield family at Cunningham House? We pride ourselves on providing independent living within a safe, supportive, sheltered environment encompassed by a warm, caring atmosphere.

Purpose built in 1986, Cunningham House has nine bed-sitting rooms, each with en-suite toilets and washbasins, and regular cleaning is provided. All rooms are on the ground floor and give direct access onto our landscaped garden. Our friendly housekeeper lives on-site and provides breakfast as well as two nutritious home-cooked meals every day, which residents take together. Residents also meet for coffee daily in our lounge and there is no restriction on visiting hours. Residents come and go as they please and are key holders to their own rooms and the front door.

Picturesque Pirbright village, whilst conveniently located for access to transport links, boasts a traditional village green that plays host every summer to weekly cricket matches, as well as a duck pond. Pirbright has a vibrant and bustling community with two pubs, a doctor’s surgery, a WI country market and various clubs and societies – the Horticultural Society, Pirbright Singers and the over-60s Rawlins Club are just some on offer. There is also an active, inclusive church community, which is supported by regular events such as the Pirbright annual village fete.
