Located in the pretty and vibrant old town of Hemel Hempstead, St Mary’s House has seven rooms, two flats in the main buildings, two external flats and two bungalows. Built in the 18th century, it was originally a gentleman’s townhouse and many of the beautiful original features can still be seen, including the bungalows at the rear of the property which were converted from the original stables.
All of our rooms are en-suite, with walk-in showers, and have kitchenettes with a sink area and fridges providing you with space to make your own breakfast at your own pace, and come unfurnished allowing you to bring your own personal furniture and make your room feel like home.
Our flats and bungalows have ample space, with a separate bedroom and lounge area, and are suitable for couples who wish to live together.
Spend a quiet moment relaxing in the large and airy conservatory or while away the hours in the beautiful garden; perfect places to catch up with family, friends or get to know other residents.
Conveniently located near the old high street, you’ll discover a number of specialist shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, the historic flower gardens and St Mary’s Church, after which the house is named. We are close a bus stop with routes into Hemel Hempstead town centre which has two shopping centres, the Riverside and the Marlowes shopping centres where you’ll find all of your well known high street brands, and if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to sit and relax you can visit the Water Gardens. We’re also a short bus ride away from the train station with links to London, Watford, Kensington, Clapham, Milton Keynes and Northampton.
St Mary's House is managed by the Abbeyfield Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Society.
