Helensburgh Society

Barclay Smith House, Abbeyfield Helensburgh's sheltered housing for the elderly, is named after its most generous local benefactor. In the late 1960s Colonel Edward Alan Barclay-Smith donated the house to the Society.

The property consists of eleven flats and is within walking distance of the town of Helensburgh, which provides lots of shops, cafés and a gym. It is close to a lovely promenade overlooking the Clyde and beyond.

Our home

Barclay Smith House

Located in the seaside town of Helensburgh, our home, Barclay Smith House, was purpose built as four terraced town houses. We have nine rooms, a mixture of single and double en-suite rooms, some of which have a small kitchen area. We're in an ideal location, just a five minute walk away from the waterfront and town centre with excellent transport links for those looking to travel.
