Great Missenden & District Society
The Abbeyfield Great Missenden & District Society was formed to provide a supported home with companionship for older people.
We believe passionately that high standards of accommodation, quality of life and the rights of the individual should never be compromised.
Our shared beliefs are:
- older people have an important role to play among their friends and in their community
- overcoming loneliness and insecurity can make all the difference to an older person's wellbeing and quality of life
- local people have an essential part to play in helping older people in the community
The Abbeyfield Great Missenden & District Society was formed to provide a supported home with companionship for older people. Our supported house was purpose-built 35 years ago for ten residents. Since then it has been enlarged, modified and upgraded to provide a high standard of accommodation for 16 residents.
The society is an independent charity run by a board of enthusiastic volunteer trustees. We are affiliated to the Abbeyfield Society and support its aims and beliefs.
