Colyton Society Ltd

Abbeyfield in Colyton was started 30 years ago by Mrs. Marjorie Baker and a small group of supporters who bought land from the Church Commissioners for 10 purpose-built bedsits, with en-suite facilities. A further 2 rooms were added in 1993.

Thanks to an unexpected legacy 10 years ago the Trustees decided to double the size of the building and create 12 (now 15) apartments. The House is regarded as an integral part of the Colyton community and residents are involved with a wide range of local activities.

The property is made up of these 15 purpose built units for single or double occupancy. We also offer accommodation for respite and for visiting guests of residents. The home is short stroll to the centre of the attractive town of Colyton.

The sheltered home offers all the services and required facilities, such as an emergency call system, and the society run a number of social activities which we arrange and encouraged our residents to get involved in.
