Abbeyfield An Lac Community CIO
An Lac House (which means peace and tranquillity in Vietnamese) really is unique: it not only provides sheltered housing for such a niche community, the elderly Vietnamese, but it is also the seat of the cultural and social Vietnamese community in Cambridge.
Abbeyfield An Lac Community CIO was established in 1994, and AnLac House in 1997, in order to provide sheltered accommodation for elderly people from the UK Vietnamese community, where they can be supported with dignity.
The society shows a clear understanding of, and sympathy with, not only the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the residents, but also their cultural needs and beliefs.
