Life at the house

JigsawThe house also organises a number of social activities for older people. The Buckland Monachorum volunteers organise trips out for those who wish to go, as well as a monthly film in the local church hall. We join activities with other Abbeyfield houses in the area and our local residential home.

Pilcher's Field sheltered house also runs a monthly coffee morning and numerous quizzes, as well as house events like bring and buy sales and we invite guest speakers from time to time which always proves popular.

Our aim is to offer entertaining and involved activities and services for residents who wish to participate in them, and to offer a consistent supported environment to allow our elderly guests to feel safe and looked after.

Afternoon teaOne service provided is the great locally sourced food. Our team of staff provide the cereal, bread, etc. for residents to prepare their own breakfast in their individual in-room kitchen. Coupled with this all lunch and high tea meals are fully catered for with great food prepared on site for residents to enjoy in the communal dinning room area.
