Overview

Harleston House is a modern purpose built Abbeyfield house which opened in 1997. The house is situated off the main road in a quiet, sunny location. It’s close to Wimborne town with bus links to Poole and Bournemouth with an extensive weekend market close by.

The house has a nice feeling and benefits from a well-maintained garden and summer house for residents. Residents are actively involved in the local community; for example with the local church, University of the Third Age, volunteering and many more. Residents privacy is respected, they can take part in the activities as much or as little as they wish.

All 14 residents’ rooms have en-suite bathroom facilities . Other facilities include laundry room, residents lounge and a dining room where residents enjoy their home cooked lunch and tea. There is a lift to the upper floors. We have local beauticians, hairdressers and chiropodist visiting the house regularly, which the residents and their families arrange.

The house has a dedicated Operations Manager however residents can gain additional support from a Careline provider 24 hours a day. Each resident is provided with a pendant and has a support system in their bedroom and en-suite to contact the Careline.

Harleston House is managed by Abbeyfield Wessex

Nicky, our Catering and Residents Services Officer, has been in the catering industry all her working life. She really has a passion for cooking and always uses fresh products which are in season. Fresh homemade cakes are made daily, which are loved by the residents.

Personal dietary requirements are always considered and catered for. All catering staff have been trained on allergens and can provide full details about any allergens used in the recipes. We also like to take suggestions from the residents to make sure all those favourites are on the menu.
