Meet our staff

The Abbeyfield House is run by the House Keeper and Deputy House Keeper who are qualified cooks and experienced managers. They are supported by a General Assistant and Senior House Manager.

We are fortunate in recruiting and retaining high quality staff who are passionate about providing excellent service to our residents, many of whom have lived with us for many years.

Sustainability is an important principle and we use local shops and businesses whenever possible.

Our staff and volunteers are always helpful and welcoming to relatives and friends, and we encourage guests for lunch and promote our attractive respite room for short stays and recuperation.

e organise a number of social activities and events, especially suitable for older people, so there is always something to keep you occupied or to look forward to. Although we encourage residents to join in there is never any pressure to do so, so if you'd rather enjoy your own company in our peaceful surroundings, that's absolutely fine.

Regular activities include:

• Coffee and biscuits served every day at 10.30 in the lounge to which guests are invited
• Afternoon tea
• Arts and crafts
• Gentle exercise classes
• Monthly local church service

Other ad hoc events include:

• Musical evenings with invited guests
• Summer sale
• Choir visits
