Life at the house

Coffee morningsAt our New Street House we have a small group of dedicated volunteers who form the House Committee.  The volunteers arrange a number of social events and outings during the year for residents.

This can take the form of regular coffee mornings or lunch/tea in a local restaurant or an outing to the coast.  Some of the volunteers welcome our residents into their own homes for perhaps a cream tea.  Transport is arranged by minibus or the volunteers take their own cars.

Other activities for the elderly include inviting people to come and talk about local services and clubs that might be of interest to our residents.  For example, the mobile library service, music groups etc.

KitchenOur housekeeper provides nutritious home-cooked meals twice a day in the communal dining room.

Breakfast ingredients are provided to the residents in their own rooms.
