Welcome to our house

At Chester Abbeyfield Society, we have two houses. This particular house is our ‘Christleton Road House’, subsequently located on Christleton Road, in the Boughton area of the beautiful city of Chester.

We offer supported housing in eight rooms, three of which are en-suite and five of which are semi en-suite. All of our accommodation offers you a lounge and bed area as well as a small kitchen with its own fridge.

Each floor has its own toilet facilities with a communal wet room. We have a laundry room on both floors and a stair lift that is readily available, making each floor of the house accessible.

We have a roomy reception area, and a relaxed dining room which looks into the bright, spacious conservatory area and garden. Our beautiful garden is well-maintained and the ideal place to relax on a sunny day.

We are close to a bank, post office and newsagent as well as many pubs and general stores. We have fantastic bus links to the city centre or alternatively, you can walk there in just 20 minutes. In Chester, you will find a city steeped in rich history. Explore its truly breathtaking architecture while enjoying many of the fantastic shops, restaurants and cafes on offer.

We are lucky to be supported by a team of volunteers, who work closely with the manager to plan plenty of social events during the year. We have done canal trips on a horse drawn barge in North Wales, days out to the local garden centre for afternoon tea and enjoyed a delicious BBQ in the summer. From canal trips in North Wales, days out to the local garden centre for afternoon tea, delicious BBQ in the summer to events and entertainment in winter. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Every couple of months we hold a quiz with afternoon tea, where we link up with our other house in Chester. This is a fantastic event, allowing residents from both houses to come together and have a catch up. You can also enjoy plenty of bingo nights and film nights, which we host regularly. We host a coffee morning every month where you can enjoy freshly made scones by our House Manager.

We have visits from a local choir who encourage the residents to sing along with them, and also a local theatre group who put on a fabulous performance for us.

This house is managed by the Abbeyfield Chester Society.
