Welcome to our house

Located in the town of Greenisland, Abbeyfield House is a single-storey house built in 1990 and refurbished in 2008. The house is a short walk away from local amenities such as the post office, community centre, churches and library. We have great public transport close by with links to Carrickfergus or Belfast. For lovers of the great outdoors, we are just a 15 minute walk from the coast and not too far from lovely parks and forests.

The house has ten ensuite rooms all of which are unfurnished for you to bring your own personal belongings to create your new home from home. The rooms have small kitchenettes which are ideal for preparing snacks.

Our communal lounge overlooks the green and is a great place for socialising or spending time to yourself. Staff here take great delight in baking for the residents; the Strawberry and Blueberry Pavlova is a must try!

Abbeyfield House is a friendly place to live and staff make everyone feel right at home.

We regularly hold events and activities within the house.

This house is managed by Abbeyfield and Wesley Society.

Meet the team

Gillian
Support Manager

I have worked at Abbeyfield & Wesley in Greenisland for almost three years now and love working in a community that welcomes everyone and involves Abbeyfield residents and staff in all their community activities. The house is bungalow, making it very easy to settle into and quickly make your home. I enjoy arranging activities and getting the chance to bake for the residents - my Strawberry & Blueberry Pavlova always goes down a storm! The support we provide makes such a difference to residents and families. Even after only a few weeks of moving in we see lots of smiles, which just makes the job so worthwhile.
