Features
Located in the heart of the beautiful Chilterns in Amersham, Mansil House was built in 1997 and offers sheltered accommodation for older people. Our home consists of ten en-suite rooms with kitchenettes and three double rooms with en-suites and kitchenettes, which is great for entertaining visiting family and friends. Our double rooms are perfect for couples who wish to live together. All of our flats come unfurnished so you can bring your own furniture, giving it a real home from home ambience.
We have a dedicated house manager and staff team with a real empathy for older people. Amanda, our House Manager, and the team ensure that the house is warm, comfortable and safe, and that the daily meals provided are varied, nutritious and enjoyable. Lunch and dinner are both home-cooked and served in the communal dining room, making mealtimes a social occasion, while residents make breakfast in their own rooms for a gentle start to the day.
Finding friendship and companionship is easy; we have a very comfortable communal lounge and large landing area on the first floor with a seating area so there is always somewhere to sit in company and have a chat. Our pretty, well-maintained garden is the perfect place to sit out and enjoy the fresh air, sunshine and wildlife, or catch up with family and friends.
At Mansil House we have a visiting mobile hairdresser and chiropodist, and you'll also find a lift and two assisted bathrooms which means that the house is suitable for less mobile residents.
We have a few volunteers that come in to the house and provide a variety of activities such as art class, knit and natter, poem readings, coffee mornings, gentle exercise classes, Wine Wednesdays and Sherry mornings on a Sunday.
We're in a great location, Mansil house is situated just a five minute walk away from Amersham town centre and we have a bus stop at the end of the road which offers good transport links to all local areas. In the high street you'll find a mixture of shops and eateries. For those wishing to travel further afield, Amersham train station is within walking distance, offering connections to Watford, Chesham and London Marylebone.
Just a short walk up from the house on Hervines Road you will come across Hervines Park which has beautiful scenery and is well known for its amazing display of bluebells in the spring. Most of our residents choose Mansil House due to it being close to amenities, especially the coffee shops and local health centre. We also have a local connection with Amersham Market, which is on every Tuesday, and is where we purchase our fruit and vegetables.
This property is managed by The Abbeyfield Society trading as Abbeyfield Living Society.
