Located in popular seaside town of Great Yarmouth, one of East Anglia's best beach resorts, its famous history stems from its maritime heritage and port which was once the heart of the herring industry, and is where you'll find Abbeyfield House.
Built in 1975, it has been part of Abbeyfield for over ten years and has nine rooms each with its own toilet and kitchen and our upper floor is accessible by a chair lift also have a balcony. We also have a small room which we use for trial and short stays.
We believe in being part of a community and coming together, our delightful communal lounge and dining room are the ideal locations for getting to know other residents, finding companionship and chatting to someone about your day.
We have a wonderful well maintained garden with ample seating area, perfect for relaxing, enjoying the sunshine, or catching up with some old and new friends or family. There is a conservatory with a seating area and a small library available. In the summer
Abbeyfield House is ideally situated, we're a seven minute drive away from the seafront and a stone's throw away from the River Bure, we also have the train station nearby with routes to Ipswich, Cambridge and London.
Great Yarmouth is famous for its Golden Mile, where you'll discover the best choice of restaurants and seaside entertainment around with rides and attractions for all ages. You'll also discover scenic countryside, quaint villages including Gorleston-on-Sea and the delightful village of Hemsby.

Amanda joined the Abbeyfield Society in 2014 as the Business Manager covering East Anglia and part of the East Regional Team. She has over 20 years experience in the health and social care sector.

Barbara has over 28 years experience in sheltered housing within Abbeyfield starting as a General Assistant in the 1990's and working her way to Sheltered House Manager in 2015. The most rewarding part of Barbara's role is knowing she makes a difference to the residents lives.

Kay has been a housekeeper at the house since 2018 and loves her job. The residents have become more like family to her. She likes having a coffee with staff and residents and finds the house a lovely place to live and work.

Victoria has worked at Abbeyfield since 2019. She really enjoys her role at Great Yarmouth and loves creating the menu with the residents. Victoria feels it is always a pleasure to come to work and see all of the residents.
