Senior Support Worker, Tunbridge Wells

Location: Hale Court, 7 Culverden Park Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN4 9QX

Hours of Work: Working 21 hours per week on various shifts (alternate weekends) covering 7.00am to 2.30pm or 2.00pm to 9.30pm (Monday to Sunday)

Salary: £9.41 per hour plus benefits

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker for Hale Court at our fantastic independent living facility in Tunbridge Wells, that caters for older people who want to live later in life in a safe and comfortable setting.

Working as the Senior Support Worker, you will ensure that the services we provide respect individual rights and choices while offering support, empathy, compassion and privacy to all residents.

You will also:

  • Support and care for all residents ensuring that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met while maintaining dignity, choice, independence and respect
  • Work with the Operations Manager to ensure the preparation, implementation, review and updating of all residents support plans
  • Deal with medical emergencies
  • Plan and implement activities for the residents
  • Assist in the interview and selection of potential staff and ensure appropriate and agreed staffing levels are maintained
  • Attend appropriate training and development sessions and staff meetings

The following are essential for the role:

  • Extensive experience within a supervisory role within a health or social care setting working with older people
  • A relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with people
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability read, write and work with numbers to a good standard
  • Good basic understanding of care and care planning skills
  • Ability to work using your own initiative and under pressure in a diverse and changing environment
  • Ability to effectively support individual colleagues and work as part of a team
  • Demonstrate an empathy and understanding of the needs of older people
  • Ability to work to a high standard at all times
  • Willing to travel for training as required.

The following are desirable, but not essential:

  • A good understanding of Health and Safety and the requirements within a social care setting
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
