ponies visiting viewlands house supported housing for older people in perth

We play many games including indoor golf and curling and enjoy quizzes, bingo and dominoes. We have knit and natter get-togethers and also enjoy the luxury of regular manicure sessions. We have visiting concert parties and love to have the children from the nearby schools visit. Recently we had our first visit by 2 therapy ponies, which even went around the house visiting residents in their own rooms!

We have daily exercise sessions, and several of the staff are trained in leading strength and balance classes.

Local Soroptomists visit regularly to help and encourage our residents with their computer skills…we have a few Skypers here!!

Our residents love the many trips around the local countryside and love to stop off for lunch or afternoon tea. Trips this year so far have included Blair Drummond Safari Park, Crieff Visitor Centre, Fonab Castle.

We have an enthusiastic Gardening Club led by Derry, the husband of one of our staff members. Derry works with Turning Point Scotland, which is a social enterprise group to promote community partnership working, and so this benefits both our residents and the Turning Point client group.

Our hairdresser visits twice weekly and residents enjoy their regular trip to the salon.

We publish an in-house magazine each quarter, with articles written by staff on trips away, or by residents telling about stories from their past. It also includes some puzzles, and anecdotes.
