About the property
Sunnybrae was first acquired in 1975 and renovated to a high standard in 2007. We offer eight rooms to older people. Most are en suite and all are unfurnished, so that you can bring your own furniture, making it a home from home.
Rooms are either on the ground floor or the first floor, with the latter being served by a stairlift. Each room has facilities for residents to prepare their own breakfast and refreshments requirements. TV points and telephone lines are in all rooms. The property has gas central heating and a Hanover alarm and door entry system provides 24 hour security and emergency support cover.
In addition to their own room, residents have access to a communal dining room, a lovely sun lounge overlooking the garden, which has a covered sitting area, a laundry room, and a visitor's overnight room (if available).
Rental charges are inclusive of a bed sitting room, with en suite or private bathroom facilities; central heating; light and power; two prepared meals daily; food for breakfast; cleaning of communal rooms/areas; maintenance of property/garden; Hanover personal alarm and door entry system and the support and services of a committed housekeeping team. The charges vary depending on the size of the room and its facilities, presently being a weekly average of just over £200 .Currently, residents have no Council Tax liability.
Sunnybrae is managed by Abbeyfield Atholl
Meet our staff
Our housekeeper, relief housekeepers and part-time gardener are all paid employees of Abbeyfield Atholl Society, and cleaning of the common rooms and areas is contracted out.
All members of the executive, the house committees and those active in Friends of Abbeyfield Atholl Society are volunteers, giving their time to the business management needs of the society and to the welfare interests of the residents.
We are always on the lookout for people who would be interested and willing to join what is a very rewarding local activity, providing a meaningful service to our family of residents.
If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch, and we'll be happy to arrange a chat and show you around.
Within our private style home environment, companionship is always available for those who want it, one of the many positive aspects of Abbeyfield supported housing.
A comfortable sun lounge is available to all residents and their visitors, and this is where residents gather together twice a week for coffee. We also organise a number of social activities and events, especially suitable for older people, so there's always something to keep you occupied or to look forward to.
