Meet our staff

Our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to maintain high standards of accommodation, companionship and support. Staveley House, operated by Abbeyfield Furness Extra Care Society Ltd, is run by a volunteer executive committee and is an independent member of the national Abbeyfield charity.

We aim to provide high quality care for residents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, through our well-qualified care staff who are supported by kitchen, laundry, domestic and maintenance staff.

All staff have a minimum qualification at Diploma Level 2 in their appropriate discipline. Senior care staff are qualified to level 3 in Care, with the experience management team of a Manager and two assistant managers have additional higher level qualifications with the House Manager holding Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management.

All staff receive regular training updates relevant to their role and in excess of statutory requirements. Staveley House’s long term policy is to provide care for the elderly as their mental and physical capabilities decline for as long as possible. To this end all care staff receive additional training in Dementia Awareness and Palliative Care.

Fees include all care, cleaning, laundering and meals. A private hairdresser, charged to the resident, attends on a regular basis. Appointments with chiropodists, opticians and hearing specialists can be arranged at the home.
