About the property

This sheltered house consists of 11 flats and was built in 2000. All rooms are en-suite and unfurnished, so that you can bring your own furniture, making it a home from home.

Residents have the privacy of their own suite. All our rooms are double glazed and look out directly on to the street, so that they can watch the world go by and feel part of the community.  Or, of course, they can go out and join in if they wish.

We also have a smaller lounge where residents can entertain guests or just take a few quiet moments away when they want to be out of their own suite. For dry days our patio garden is a place to relax or to help with the gardening.

We also have a fully assisted bathroom for residents who may be less mobile or need assistance. Our in-house laundry facilities mean that we can provide a discreet, speedy service for all your day-to-day wash needs.

There are shops, pubs, health clubs, restaurants and churches all within the immediate vicinity and just beyond. We organise weekly activities in house, trips to places of interest, outings and out of house events.

Meet our staff

At an Abbeyfield supported house, we offer a home from home experience. Our Staff are crucial to creating this homely, friendly and welcoming environment.

All of our staff are fully trained and skilled at catering for the needs of older people, and are empathetic to the requirements residents have. Staff are there to make sure all residents are safe and secure, that meals are nutritious and enjoyable, and that the house is a thoroughly enjoyable place to be.

At Abbeyfield, we believe in making time for older people and our staff embody this by always being available for that cup of tea and a chat - to be there as a companion when needed.

This aspect of life at an Abbeyfield Supported House sets us apart from other providers.

Music afternoonWe hold many activities, especially suited towards older people.

Coffee mornings, music afternoons and film sessions are all organised on a regular basis, and residents enjoy pastimes such as card making, scrabble and bingo.

During the summer months we hold outings to local places such as Holker Hall or Levens Hall. We usually tie these in with an event, for example a flower show, and include a meal or other refreshment, so they're very much enjoyed by all.

We also have one-off events such as last year when local school children helped residents to plant our raised flower-beds - very rewarding for children and older people alike. And during the festive season schools came to the fore once again with local school choirs entertaining our residents with Christmas carols.

Our town centre location gives easy access to all local amenities, so you can pop in whenever you feel like having a change of scenery.
