Middleton House offers residents the privacy and independence of their own accommodation combined with the companionship of like minded others. Uniquely, Abbeyfield provides home cooked meals, served in a communal dining room, and the support of dedicated house staff who are on duty every day. The house is set in its own beautiful gardens giving residents the opportunity to do a bit of gardening or to just enjoy the fresh air and outside seating areas.

Accommodation is provided in 11 attractive studio units and one bedroom flats, all with en-suite shower facilities. Private accommodation can be furnished and decorated to suit personal taste and communal facilities include an attractive lounge, dining room, assisted bathing facilities, kitchens on each floor and storage for mobility scooters.

We regularly open our doors and invite people from the local community to come and join us to see what life is like at an Abbeyfield house. Sharing Sundays provide the opportunity for guests to come and join the residents of the house for a home cooked Sunday lunch. If you would like to come and visit, please contact the House Manager who will be happy to make arrangements with you.

Life at the house

Activities at Middleton supported house

There is always a warm and friendly atmosphere in the house with plenty of things to do and enjoy together. There are regular coffee mornings and outings, and a monthly calendar of activities which includes film nights, painting classes and beetle drives.

A holy communion service is held monthly. Larger events such as summer barbecues and cream teas are arranged throughout the year, all organised by the residents, staff and a dedicated team of volunteers.

Poetry club at Middleton supported living house

One of the residents produces a monthly newsletter which reports on the monthly activities and events that have taken place and lets residents know about forthcoming events. The newsletter is distributed to all residents, their families, and to staff and volunteers.

Residents hold a very popular themed poetry evening every month when they come together to read and discuss their favourite poems about a chosen subject.

Meals at Middleton care home

A varied and appetising menu of delicious home cooked food is provided every day and meals are served at lunch time and tea time in the communal dining room by our dedicated and friendly staff.

There is a kitchen specifically for residents to use on each floor.
