Langholm was built in 1905 and renovated in 1982. Our home has six one-bedroom flats, eight studio rooms and one one-bedroom guest flat, all of which are en-suite.

Our rooms are unfurnished allowing you to bring your own furniture, truly making it a home from home. But it doesn’t stop there, we encourage residents to put their stamp on their rooms and allow you to decorate the room to your taste.

Pets are welcome at Langholm all we ask is you let us know on application if you have any and how well trained they are. Currently we have a little Jack Russel dog living with us called Misty.

We have a large garden for residents, friends and family to enjoy the sunshine, with a summer house and pergola for when there’s a nip in the air.

Friends and family are welcome to visit whenever they want and are invited to join us for lunch or dinner.

Parking is available outside the home.

Our fees are designed to be affordable to all. They include all meals, communal cleaning, utility bills and council tax. At Langholm we’re dedicated to providing a homely environment for our residents. We invest in the continued professional development of our staff to ensure the highest standards of service are offered.

Life at the house

Residents at Langholm lead independent lives but enjoy communal spaces at mealtimes. We regularly have visitors at Langholm who lead singing sessions with residents and we’re always open to volunteers joining us to run activities.

Langholm is located a short distance from local amenities including restaurants, shops and race course. The historical market town of Beverley is a five minute walk from the house; you can often find our residents enjoying the markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We also have excellent transport links as we’re located close to bus stops and the train station.

Each Thursday we have a hairdresser visit and pamper our residents (there is an extra charge for this service).

Resident’s views and feedback are welcomed throughout the year but we host resident meetings every six weeks to discuss the menus, events and house in general.

What's on the menu

Breakfast is taken in resident’s rooms but all food and drink is provided. Our staff then provide a cooked lunch and light supper served in the main dining room. Dietary requirements and favourite meals are taken in to account when designing the weekly menu.
