About the property

Johnson House was built in 1987 in an area of outstanding natural beauty, close to the Lake District and the Solway coast. The retirement property consists of ten ensuite rooms and ten one-bed apartments. It is maintained to a very high standard following refurbishment of the existing accommodation. New residents are accepted from 55 years of age.

Self contained apartments available - contact us today!

The sheltered house includes mobility standard and wheelchair properties, and is disabled-friendly with a lift and separate chairlift provided to the first floor accommodation.

Care line facilities are installed in each room. Washing facilities are available for those who can manage this for themselves but help with cleaning and washing can be arranged for a small additional charge.

Meet our staff

A fantastic group of volunteers associated with Johnson House befriend our residents. They visit each resident on a regular basis, help out at social events and assist in general when on outings, holidays and so on.

The house is managed by a committee of volunteers and run by a number of dedicated and devoted staff including a residential housekeeper.

We also have excellent, attentive, catering staff, who provide hot meals twice a day and cater for everyone’s dietary needs. Details are recorded of anyone with particular likes or dislikes to ensure they enjoy all the food that is served.

ActivitiesThe Jolly Johnsons is a social club where, with the help of our housekeeper, activities and events are organised by the residents, for the residents!

Regular in-house activities include:

• Fit 4 Life exercises
• Slide shows
• Talks
• Bridge club
• Holy Communion
• Beautician
• Meals out

Ad hoc events include:

• Tours of the stunning Lake District
