Overview

This property is a lovely Victorian house, built in 1900 and renovated in 1989, in a leafy avenue in Lenzie. It is in good decorative condition with accommodation for ten residents.

This very sheltered accommodation is of a high standard. Most rooms are either ensuite or have a bathroom or shower close by for your personal use. Rooms are unfurnished so that you can provide your own furniture and private possessions.

A communal living/dining room means that the house is very sociable and you can have as much company as you like. We also have an attractive garden where residents can sit out and enjoy the sunshine.

Two nutritious home-cooked meals are provided every day by our house manager, using fresh locally sourced produce where possible, and residents have facilities in their own rooms for making breakfast and refreshments.

The house has access to a community alarm service, so you can always contact someone for help, even when our staff are away from the site.

Life at the house

Arts and craftsActivities such as coffee mornings, arts and crafts afternoons, and exercises, especially geared towards older people, are organised on a regular basis.

We also arrange day trips and outings to local attractions or shows, organised by our very active Friends of Abbeyfield house committee.

There are also three churches in the area which offer a range of activities.

KitchenWe provide highly nutritious lunches and delicious home-cooked evening meals, all prepared with fresh, locally sourced food where possible.

Meals are served in the communal living/dinging room so they are a bit of a social occasion. However, residents have breakfast making facilities in their own rooms so that they can start the day whenever they want.
