Overview

Dock Park is a traditional Victorian villa, renovated in 1993, with comfortable and spacious accommodation, with shared kitchen facilities, for 13  residents. We are located close to the town's Dock Park, with an extremely attractive outlook, and reasonably close to the town's general hospital. The house has a large garden with spectacular views, a small patio and private parking.

This very sheltered accommodation is of a high standard. Most rooms are either en-suite or have a bathroom or shower close by for your personal use. Rooms are unfurnished so that you can provide your own furniture and private possessions.

A communal living/dining room means that the house is very sociable and you can have as much company as you like. We also have an attractive garden where residents can sit out and enjoy the sunshine.

The house has access to a community alarm service, so you can always contact someone for help, even when our staff are away from the site.

Life at the house

Arts and craftsWe have a wonderful team of volunteers who help organise activities, provide transport for health appointments and offer a friendly ear if you just feel like having a chat.

Activities such as coffee mornings, arts and crafts afternoons, and exercises, especially geared towards older people, are organised on a regular basis.

We also arrange day trips and outings to local attractions.

KitchenWe provide highly nutritious lunches and delicious home-cooked evening meals, all prepared with fresh, locally sourced food where possible.
Meals are served in the communal living/dinging room so they are a bit of a social occasion. However, residents have breakfast making facilities in their own rooms so that they can start the day whenever they want.
