About the property

We provide a peaceful, friendly atmosphere where residents can remain as independent as possible. We offer a range of activities from coffee mornings to the more energetic exercise classes. It's a home from home with support when you need it from our professional and caring house staff and volunteers.

Brows Lodge & Milverton were originally 2 separate houses on the same site. Milverton was built in 1920 & then in 1980 Brows Lodge was built. A few years later the 2 were joined together and all the residents share activities and meals.

In total we have accommodation for 17 residents varying from bedsits to 1 bed flats with en-suite facilities. We serve two meals a day. A 2 course main lunch and a 2 course lighter tea. All meals are freshly prepared and home cooked.

Staff are on site from 9am to 5.30pm, 7 days a week. Care line takes over after staff leave and throughout the night so our residents and their families can have peace of mind that there is always help on hand if required.

New residents accepted from 55 years of age.

Please contact us to discuss if you wish to bring a pet.

Meet our staff

At an Abbeyfield supported house, we offer a home from home experience. Our staff are crucial to creating this homely, friendly and welcoming environment.

All our staff are fully trained and skilled at catering for the needs of older people, and are empathetic to the requirements residents have. Staff are there to make sure all residents are safe and secure, that meals are nutritious and enjoyable, and that the house is a thoroughly enjoyable place to be.

At Abbeyfield, we believe in making time for older people and our staff embody this by always being available for that cup of tea and a chat - to be there as a companion when needed.

This aspect of life at an Abbeyfield Supported House sets us apart from other providers.

ActivitiesThe beauty of this house is that you can have your independence, with the knowledge that help and support is there if you need it. Some residents enjoy their own company and will spend time doing their own thing, while others prefer to get involved in the many events and activities which we have on offer.

We offer weekly exercise classes and film days, where our residents can relax and unwind watching a variety of films. We have volunteers who attend site providing IT support for those residents who enjoy keeping up with technology.

We organise bingo & quiz afternoons with an afternoon tea and whenever possible try to arrange activities and days out further afield such as visits to local garden centre to a canal cruise.

We have entertainers who come and entertain our residents with lively singing and music.
