Meet our staff

staff at abbeyfield alexander house supported housing for older people in cumbriaAlexander House supported house prides itself on its professional team of staff and volunteers.

Our house manager is a very caring and personable individual and has a real empathy with older people. This means she is able to offer discreet support to each resident, a friendly face to chat to and professional advice when required. She and her staff create a real family atmosphere and always work towards making Alexander House a real home from home.

Our team of dedicated volunteers help with activities and events for residents and also help to support an independent aspect to the quality of life of residents.

Activities

ActivitiesWe organise an active social life that is tailored to suit older people,
so there is always something to look forward to and to keep you occupied.

Regular optional social activities include chair exercise sessions every Monday, 'Knit & Natter' sessions on a Wednesday afternoon, and a monthly library delivery service. We have plenty of fun entertainment activities too, such as quizzes and games afternoons, and like to go on regular outings to places of interest such as the local steam train station and Muncaster Castle.

We regularly have coffee mornings to raise money for the home. We also organise events throughout the year, particularly at Christmas.
