Overview

Coatbridge was purpose built as a residential home for ten elderly people in 1994 in a quiet residential area, with bus stops located nearby.

It is a modern one-level house with well decorated communal areas, including a large lounge with TV and video and shared kitchen facilities. It is surrounded by its own walled/fenced landscaped gardens, with private off-street parking for residents cars if required.

Most rooms are either en-suite or have a bathroom or shower close by for your personal use. Rooms are unfurnished so that you can provide your own furniture and private possessions.

A communal living/dining room means that the house is very sociable and you can have as much company as you like. We also have an attractive garden where residents can sit out and enjoy the sunshine.

Two nutritious home-cooked meals are provided every day by our house manager, using fresh locally sourced produce where possible, and residents have facilities in their own rooms for making breakfast and refreshments.

The house has access to a community alarm service, so you can always contact someone for help, even when our staff are away from the site.

This house is managed by Abbeyfield Scotland.

Life at the house

We believe in enjoying later life and an Abbeyfield house will always offer residents the opportunities to get involved in activities and entertainment - which are a big part of life in our houses!

We offer an extensive activity programme within our Supported Houses, with our teams dedicated to coordinating events. We understand the importance of our residents’ emotional and physical well-being, and keeping active and enjoying later life is crucial to this.

Keeping active is important for older people and we offer numerous opportunities for residents to stay active, but it’s always the residents choice to get involved, with their independence and choice always being respected.

KitchenWe provide highly nutritious lunches and delicious home-cooked evening meals, all prepared with fresh, locally sourced food where possible.

Meals are served in the communal living/dinging room so they are a bit of a social occasion. However, residents have breakfast making facilities in their own rooms so that they can start the day whenever they want.
