About the property

Abbeyfield House provides assisted living for older people in ten en-suite studio flats.

Rooms are tastefully decorated and you can bring your own small personal items and pieces of furniture for a real home from home ambience. All our accommodation is on the ground floor for easy access.

The house has a warm and welcoming communal sitting room and dining rooms - lovely to sit and read or just to have a chat with someone. There is also a pretty, well-tended garden with plenty of seating.

We provide two tasty and nutritious home-cooked meals every day, served in our pleasant communal dining room so that meal times are a social occasion. Residents have breakfast making facilities in their own rooms so they can have their breakfast whenever they want, for a gentle start to the day.

Our kind and caring resident management staff are on duty seven days a week. They have a real affinity for and empathy with older people. We also have a community alarm service operating throughout the house for your complete peace of mind.

This house is managed by Abbeyfield Strathaven & District.

Meet our staff

Our staff are key to all that we do, and without them, we wouldn’t be the organisation we are today.

We take time to find the right people to work for us, who love their job and go the extra mile in making sure that everyone who lives with us feels happy and secure. ‘Making time’ is an important principle that means we never limit our staff in how long they can spend with a resident. We have our own in-house training programme, so that every member of staff feels supported in delivering the best possible care and assistance.

We believe in enjoying later life and an Abbeyfield house will always offer residents the opportunities to get involved in activities and entertainment - which are a big part of life in our houses!

We offer an extensive activity programme within our Supported Houses, with our teams dedicated to coordinating events. We understand the importance of our residents’ emotional and physical well-being, and keeping active and enjoying later life is crucial to this.

Keeping active is important for older people and we offer numerous opportunities for residents to stay active, but it’s always the residents choice to get involved, with their independence and choice always being respected.
