About the property

At Abbeyfield House we aim to provide a peaceful, friendly atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to remain as independent as possible and to make the house a home for life.

The house consists of 8 flats. Most rooms are en-suite and all are unfurnished so you can bring your own furniture, making it a home from home.

We offer a full range of regular social activities and the on-site house manager ensures that the house is warm, comfortable and safe and that the daily meals provided are varied, nutritious and enjoyable.

This house is managed by Abbeyfield & Wesley.

Meet our staff

The staff and volunteers at Abbeyfield & Wesley are all people who share our values and want to make our residents time with us as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

As a charity providing supported sheltered housing for older people in comfortable, family-style accommodation, our staff have all the relevant care and social skills required.

The staff run each of our homes to provide the privacy and security many older people seek when managing alone in their own home has become a burden. They are there to offer support and assistance where required, but residents can come and go as they please, receive visitors and enjoy meals provided by the house staff.

All staff and volunteers will take the worries of maintaining a house and garden, paying bills and dealing with loneliness away from residents.

We believe in enjoying later life and an Abbeyfield house will always offer residents the opportunities to get involved in activities and entertainment - which are a big part of life in our houses!

We offer an extensive activity programme within our Supported Houses, with our teams dedicated to coordinating events. We understand the importance of our residents’ emotional and physical well-being, and keeping active and enjoying later life is crucial to this.

Keeping active is important for older people and we offer numerous opportunities for residents to stay active, but it’s always the residents choice to get involved, with their independence and choice always being respected.
