Appeal to trace pen pals of first Abbeyfield residents

Found in the possessions of our founder were delicate letters written to our first EVER residents in 1956 from then high school pupils Brenda Barker and Sheila Scott. We're asking the nation to turn into detectives and help us find them. Previously based in Newcastle, the ladies would now be in their 70s.

A record breaking skydive for 94 year old daredevil, Adeline

Adeline Franken, a resident of Cove House at the Abbeyfield Silverdale Society, has broken the British record for the oldest female skydiver ever after jumping out of a plane from 15,000 feet in an effort to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
