Salary: £9.25 per hour

At Abbeyfield we aim to maximise and improve the quality of life for every one our residents. As a Housekeeper, you will make certain that everyone feels settled and supported, actively encouraging residents to get involved in our activities and providing day to day management of the house.

On a daily basis the Housekeeper role consists of a morning welfare check of our residents, followed by preparing and serving a fresh wholesome lunch and tea to our home of 17 residents. At Locks Heath we have just received our Bronze Food for Life Award, meaning that we only use traceable meats, free range eggs and at least 75% of our freshly prepared meals are free from undesirable additives, colourings and sweeteners. Further to this we like us staff to interact with our residents on a daily basis.

You will need to be a great cook, as well as managing materials and stock for the efficient running of the house. There will also be some administration involved for which training will be given.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working with the public and an ability to work under their own initiative. A Food Hygiene Certificate qualification would be desirable but above all you must care about making a difference to the lives of older people as much as we do.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 25 July 2019.  This post is subject to a DBS check.
