House Administrator, Muswell Hill

Location: Abbeyfield, 33 Grove Avenue, Muswell Hill, London, N10 2AS

Hours: 35 Hours (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £20,000 - £24,000

Our ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills and be competent in using and maintaining information and administrative computer systems. You'll be customer focused and passionate about improving the lives of older people.

This admin role will be based at Gardener House in Muswell Hill, although you will be required to travel to various Housing Associations in the area to assist the region in all types of compliance regulations. You will report directly to the Business Manager yet work with all House Managers that you will be supporting.

Working as an Administrator for Abbeyfield, you will deliver courteous customer service at all times and take responsibility for all admin tasks.

This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Delivering excellent customer services at all times.
  • Dealing with enquiries, bookings and payments.
  • General administration duties such as photocopying, scanning, distribution of mailings etc, arranging external functions for fundraising, payroll support, Maintenance compliance checks with various other administrative duties. 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Ability to multi-task, adapting to changing priorities and managing a broad range of tasks
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload and stay calm under pressure.
  • IT skills - experience of MS Office programmes
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to work flexibly and provide cover for leave periods.

 The following are essential for the role:

  • Some knowledge of payroll
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and e-mail
  • Experience of working with established office procedures and systems
  • Good interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Willingness to travel and undertake all required training

Experience of working with older people or in registered care home setting is desirable.
