Jemma Thompson

- Operations Manager

Jemma has worked at Westall House since 2001 and has at some point carried out all roles within the home, before working her way up to become the Registered Manager in 2015! Jemma has completed her Level 2 and 3 NVQ’s in Health and Social care, including her Assessors award (winning assessor of the year two years running). Jemma has also achieved her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.

Lynn has worked at Westall House since 2002 and provides all the residents with nutritious home cooked and freshly prepared meals.

Emma has worked at Westall House since 2009 and is a valued member of the team, she works closely with all staff and residents on a daily basis.

Vivian has been part of the care team since 2010 and was recently promoted.

Heather has worked at Westall since 2009 and has completely transformed the activities provided at Westall House.

Ben joined the team as a Kitchen Assistant and now fills in for the Chef when she is on annual leave, he has worked hard to train to fulfill this role.

Ann has worked at Westall House since 2011, a long standing member of the team. Ann has her Level 2 & Level 3 in Health and Social care.

A previous employee of Westall House who retired in 2015 Brenda is now instrumental in Volunteering and supports the residents with Knit and Natter and Art. Brenda volunteers at all our events

The residents love to spend time with our youngest volunteers! They help at all of our events, running stalls and helping wherever they can.

Heather provides all our residents with a wide variety of activities and she is always looking to start more groups and keep the residents interested and active.

On the menu

Lynn our Head Chef ensures that all residents’ needs and dietary requirements are met at all times offering a varied menu of nutritious home cooking using fresh vegetables prepared that day.

Lynn has her Level 4 award in managing food safety in catering and is very proud of our 5 star food rating. 

Sample Menu

Breakfast
Breakfast is served to residents in the rooms and they are able to choose from a variety of options including: porridge, cereal, toast, fruit, or bacon sandwich. Breakfast is also served with fresh juices and tea or coffee.

Lunch
Lunch is served as the main meal in our main dining room where the residential residents and the sheltered Housing residents all come together to eat. The menu is varied and two choices are available each day, other alternatives such as omelet or salad are also offered daily.

Supper
Supper is generally a light meal for the evening and again a choice is given to all residents about what they would like with alternatives always being available – The options include soup, sandwiches, salads and cheese and biscuits.
