Build in 1809, The Old House offers older people supported housing in one of Ewell’s original properties. Located a short walk to Ewell Village, The Old House not only offers friendship, security and support but also a wonderful lifestyle.

We truly love our home at The Old House, with just 10 rooms, some en-suite, it truly feels like you’re part of a family here. Della, our House Manager, keeps everything running smoothly at the house and is a wonderful cook, creating delicious meals for all of our residents and any visiting friends and family.

All of our bedrooms come unfurnished allowing residents to bring their own furniture from home and add a personal touch. If residents would like to redecorate this can be arranged.

Outdoor living is a big part of life at The Old House. Our garden wraps around two sides of the house and is partially walled giving residents privacy and security. We have a veranda with chairs for residents to sit out under the shade and watch the wildlife and we recently built a new patio into the lawn for those wanting a little more sunlight.

“There is no place like home and for me, The Old House truly is my home. I love living here, in fact I’ve had two different rooms at The Old House in my seven years.” – Barbara, 100, Resident at The Old House.

If you would like to arrange a visit to The Old House or make an enquiry, please fill in our contact form or call us.

Life at the house

As a house of 10 residents we all know each other very well and enjoy getting together as a group for events and activities. We often take trips to the local garden centre for coffee and cake, and organise cinema trips to see the films of past and present.

Other activities we enjoy at the house include:

- Games afternoons.
- Knit and natter to make blankets to send to Africa.
- Coffee mornings each Tuesday with members of the local community.
- Pet therapy.
- Chair exercises.

What’s on the menu

Della is a wonderful cook and creates a menu that all of our residents enjoy. Our catering kitchen allows us to cater for everyone with all dietary requirements.

Some of our favourite dishes include:

- Pork chops with roasties.
- Vegetable soup.
- Bread and butter pudding.
